IntraVision is a Danish company, which specializes in calendar and planning software for IBM and Microsoft platforms. One of their very successful planning products called OnTime has more than 600,000 users worldwide.
IntraVision chose to outsource parts of their software development, because it is easier to find the right software developers abroad. CEO in IntraVision, Jens Overgaard Dinesen explains, “We needed a highly specialized software developer, and we wanted a process where we had several candidates to choose from. We were not looking for an ordinary software developer. It was a difficult IT candidate Conscensia had to find for us in Ukraine, but they succeeded.”

The start-up phase with a foreign developer has inspired IntraVision to change internal processes, Jens Overgaard Dinesen explains. “Structure and clear processes are required, when a Danish development team works with a colleague in Ukraine. All documentation and meetings are now in English. We have also focused on integrating Dmytro in our company. He has visited our company in Denmark several times, and we have visited Conscensia’s development center in Ukraine. Therefore, domain knowledge was quickly transferred to our new developer, and we have gotten to know him personally.”

It is also important that the employees understand each other’s cultures, so the cooperation works smoothly. Jens Overgaard Dinesen explains, “Conscensia told us about the cultural differences between Ukraine and Denmark. I think that that daily work and cooperation is very effective. We have an open and free atmosphere in IntraVision and Dmytro has quickly adapted. We want our employees to speak their mind, also when it comes to professional input.”

IntraVision finds it important to have a Danish outsourcing partner, who understands the company’s business area and who can assist quickly, if needed. Jens Overgaard Dinesen concludes, “I’m very content with Conscensia’s services. On a scale from 1-5 where 5 is the best grade, I give Conscensia the best grade 5. I cannot find anything, which has not been top professional.”
